Mark Synnott

Chief Executive Officer

Mark joined Colliers International in 1989 and was instrumental in establishing the leasing and agency side of the business. In 1994 he was appointed Chief Executive of Colliers International New Zealand. Mark’s career spans many large transactions, including working with PricewaterhouseCoopers to initiate its 10,000m2 landmark waterfront office tower in Auckland, completed in 2002.

Bruce Gallie

Chief Operating Officer 

Following 15 years in the property industry, Bruce joined the sales team at Colliers International in 2002. In 2004 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer. Bruce has extensive experience in portfolio management, investment sales and property development.

Peter Herbert

Chief Financial Officer

Peter joined Colliers International New Zealand in 1992. He is responsible for all company finances as well as financial reporting and compliance. He also forms part of the senior management team reporting to the CEO. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Charles Cooper

Auckland Managing Director

Charles joined Colliers International New Zealand in 1990. Between 1997 and 2000 he ran the company’s Wellington business and was the key man behind the Wellington office’s merger with competitor Harcourts, an initiative which doubled the size of the business. Charles then moved back to Auckland as the director responsible for the Auckland industrial business. In this position he was instrumental in growing the division tenfold between 2000 and 2010.

Alan McMahon

National Director, Research and Consulting

Alan joined Colliers International New Zealand in 1998 and was made a director in 2000. Having been active in the property industry for over 30 years as a valuer, agent, and latterly consultant and researcher, Alan has broad experience in many aspects of commercial property markets. Key areas of expertise include property investment strategies, property research, property marketing and management.

Peter Herdson

National Director, Corporate and Institutional Sales

Peter joined Colliers International New Zealand in 1993. He holds responsibility for many of Colliers’ larger clients on a national basis. He has been involved in many of New Zealand´s major corporate portfolio sales including The Warehouse, NZ Post, Restaurant Brands and most major trading banks and listed property entities.

Rob Bird

National Director, Office Leasing

Rob has over 20 years’ commercial property experience specialising in tenant representation, corporate real estate strategy, commercial property financial analysis and valuation. He has been employed by Colliers International New Zealand for over 15 years. During that time Rob has completed tenant representation roles for multi-national and national corporate clients including Vodafone, KPMG, Fairfax, PWC, McKinsey & Co, Maersk Sealand, Pfizer, New Zealand Post, Telecom, Auckland Regional Council, Otis, United Technologies, Grant Thornton and Westpac.

Ash Hira

National Director, Retail Leasing

Ash has over 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate. Having joined Colliers in 1991 and co-founding the Auckland-based retail division, Ash has become New Zealand’s number one large format retail specialist and an authority on retail development and project leasing throughout the country.

Greg Goldfinch

National Director, Industrial Sales and Leasing

Greg specialises in the mid to upper end of the Industrial sale and leasing markets. He joined Colliers International in 2004, coming from a policing background. Since starting his career with Colliers, Greg has progressively consolidated his position in the Auckland industrial property market and now heads the industrial team. During his career as a broker he has regularly been among the top 10 operators for Colliers across NZ, having transacted in excess of $750m worth of industrial real estate in his time with the agency.

Kane Sweetman

National Director, Valuation and Advisory

Kane joined Colliers International New Zealand in January 2012, coming from CBRE in Sydney where he most recently ran the NSW valuation business with responsibility for strategy and restructuring along with financial control, staffing and business development. He also sat on CBRE’s New South Wales Executive Board, as one of nine board members overseeing a 500-strong team. Kane has 16 years’ experience in the property market, having also held positions with CBRE in London and with Beca and Ernst & Young in Auckland.

Gareth Fraser

National Director, Real Estate Management Services (Commercial)

Gareth returned to Colliers International in 2011 after gaining property management experience with Colliers International Australia and, more recently, as a senior executive with Bank of New Zealand. Gareth leads Colliers’ nationwide team of commercial property management and facilities management personnel, with a strong emphasis on increasing Colliers’ provision of commercial property management services to the Auckland commercial property market. He has a strong property background and a wealth of experience in property analysis, management and brokerage.

Evan Harris

National Director, Real Estate Management Services (Retail)

Evan joined Colliers International in 1979 initially as a property manager. He now oversees an extensive property management portfolio of retail, commercial, industrial and residential properties (over $2 billion) and also provides consultancy services to clients. His property management expertise is particularly strong in the retail sector and he is one of New Zealand’s foremost authorities on the factors needed for a vibrant, profitable shopping centre. Evan also assists the New Zealand Council of Shopping Centres and the Property Council of New Zealand in setting the framework and policies regarding retail shopping centre investment and management including Government submissions, industry initiatives and the like.

Don Smith

National Director, Corporate Solutions

Don joined Colliers International in 2009, having worked in property industry since the late 1980s. He has a solid understanding of providing outsourced property and facilities management services to clients. In designing solutions for his clients he seeks to understand the drivers of his clients so that he and his team can deliver a service that is customised to their unique needs. Don has an avid interest in IT solutions in the property industry and the benefits they can deliver to both Colliers International and our clients. This focus means that both his team and his clients are operating from a fully informed position and ensure they derive maximum benefit from their property expenditure.
