As Colliers International's Auckland managing director, Charles is responsible for the client service experience, the growth strategies and the profitability of the Auckland business. Charles is also a key member of Colliers International's New Zealand board of directors and sits on the Australasian senior leadership team.
Colliers International's Auckland business in the strongest commercial real estate services player in the market and comprises 150 personnel over three offices. Colliers' Auckland business has experienced an average of 12% compound growth over the past 10 years.
With 22 years' experience at Colliers International, Charles brings the property market knowledge, broad networks and professionalism to ensure every project is a success and every client receives satisfactory outcomes.
During his career Charles has:
- undertaken many large leasing and sales transactions including the sale and leaseback of The Warehouse's North Island distribution centre in Wiri, Auckland, for NZ$90m (the largest industrial asset sale ever seen in New Zealand)
- been the number one performing broker at Colliers International on a number of occasions
- managed the Wellington office through a successful merger
- been instrumental in the establishment of several other Colliers International offices, most notably the North Shore office and the Highbrook office in South Auckland, which Charles still has responsibility for today.
Charles has also been a key driver of Colliers' longstanding support of Cure Kids, the company's charity partner.
Charles is married with three children and enjoys reading, travelling, great food and wine and ultra-distance running. Charles and three colleagues won the 2012 Oxfam 100km race in Taupo and also won the highest fundraising award for the event.
