A rare parcel of freehold land adjacent to Christchurch International Airport is soon to be developed by owners Calder Stewart.
The 16ha parcel, which will be directly connected to the airport internal road network via Ron Guthrey Rd and with frontage onto Russley Rd, will be developed into a high quality business park.
Dubbed Airspace CHC, the project falls within the Special Purpose Airport Zone, which fundamentally allows airport-related businesses and ancillary operations. These include the likes of logistics and distribution, car and van rental, parking, and tourism operations.
Judging by initial enquiry, Calder Stewart is optimistic that Airspace CHC will be complete ahead of the five-year target. Own or lease options are on offer with flexible land and building packages.
Arthur: “ The key difference between us and the Airport is that we will sell land and building packages. I think there are a number of companies that want to own their own premises – it’s not an option with airport land but it is with us. In fact, more than half the people we’ve spoken with in recent weeks are looking at owner occupation.
“There’s definitely latent demand for land by the Airport and we’ve already held discussions with a number of parties ranging from local operators to large multi-nationals.”
The industrial team at Colliers says the project will be welcomed by businesses, which are crying out for this sort of high quality land in such a location. “We are instantly talking to business owners and investors looking for exactly this – a premium development in a superb position.” For further information, airspacechc.co.nz
