Colliers wins major Vodafone property management contract
Colliers International announces that it has won a major three year contract to manage all of Vodafone New Zealand’s property requirements across the country.
The contract, won through a competitive international market tender by Colliers’ Occupier Services business, will involve the management of over 1,500 properties – including offices, network sites, cell sites and retail outlets.
The contract is part of a larger win for Colliers across the world, which will also see the company handle all of Vodafone’s real estate in a number of other countries including the United Kingdom, where the group’s global office is based.
A key element of the New Zealand contract, which is due to last for three years with a three year right of renewal, is responsibility for Vodafone’s lease and administration management. This involves co-ordinating communication with landlords, managing lease obligations such as rent reviews and renewals, administration of all lease payments and rent collections.
This news follows an announcement in October 2009 that Colliers set up its new Occupier Services business to provide occupiers of corporate real estate with a range of strategic advisory and property services. The business acquired its first major contract with the New Zealand Inland Revenue in 2009 to manage its national lease portfolio across 22 sites throughout New Zealand.

Main operations are set to start on 1st May 2010, after a transition period that began on 1st April.
