Nine Up, Two Down

Key survey findings:-

• Overall confidence increased from -8% to -3%, the highest since June 2009
• Six centres now optimistic, up from two in December 2010
• Post quake results showed that Christchurch investor confidence is the most pessimistic in the country, declining significantly to -33%.
•  Retail investor confidence remains the weaker sector than office or industrial confidence in Christchurch
•  Nelson and Dunedin had the largest increase in confidence by, 24% and 23% respectively compared to three months ago
•  Queenstown recorded the largest increase in confidence by 33% compared to a year ago
• Of the three main centres, Auckland is the only centre to record positive investor confidence result
• In all of the main centres, investors in industrial property are the most optimistic
• 2988 responses were utilised to construct the survey results
