Returning confidence has been signalled by our Investor Confidence Survey through 2012, and that talk is now being matched by deeds in the form of several large commercial transactions.
Precinct Properties’ acquisition of Westfield’s Downtown shopping centre for $90 million follows hard on the heels of Aviva’s purchase of Shore City shopping centre, also from Westfield for around $83 million. Both of these are in Auckland as is the 5.2 hectare former Lion site in Newmarket which the University of Auckland is reported to have conditionally purchased.
