Sydney-based youth fashion chain General Pants will unveil its fifth New Zealand store in six months when its new Wellington shop opens at 82 Willis Street, Wellington this month.
General Pants has 54 stores throughout Australia, and stores in New York and Los Angeles through its Ksubi brand. In New Zealand, General Pants has already opened large stores in Auckland and Christchurch.
Ty Dallas, Colliers International retail specialist, who brokered the 248sq m store, says it will bring a variety of popular brands to the market such as Patagonia and Harley Davidson.
"The new Wellington store will have a high energy 'theatre' environment on a scale not seen here before.”
General Pants chief executive Sasha Laing says New Zealand's youth and music culture drove the retailer's decision to "cross the ditch.
“We already have a strong online business in New Zealand and, with a local store network as a multi-channel retailer, this not only gives our customers greater choice but also easy access to all our brands.”
General Pants recently moved into a new distribution centre in Australia that has enabled it to offer more delivery options for online orders including same-day and after-hours delivery.
