Rural Sales Advisor
License # 10007356
Dean has been involved in the agricultural sector for pretty much all his life, with a genuine passion for the rural sector. After his formative years in Gisborne, Dean entered the Farm Cadet Training scheme and moved to Taranaki, entering the Dairy Industry.
The lure and intrigue of another passion beckoned Dean and he joined the Police in the mid-1980’s, with his rural affinity drawing him to primarily rural policing during this period.
Following his time in the Police, Dean commenced a role as a Livestock Buyer, setting up his own livestock company in the Horowhenua and Manawatu area, adding Rural Real Estate into the business in 2008. Dean’s genuine love of helping and advising people with their farm or lifestyle property decisions soon took over and he has remained solely involved in the Real Estate business since that time.
Not only has Dean been a successful rural salesperson, but he has also taken on management roles within the industry, including that of a Country Team Manager, Regional Manager and General Manager, during this time.
Dean has built a strong reputation as being extremely straight forward, down to earth, hardworking, reliable and totally honest .., it simply is “who he is”. Always wanting to expand his knowledge, Dean rarely turns down an opportunity to upskill and train, including gaining his Branch Managers License.
With his work, sporting and community experiences across Taranaki and the lower North Island, Dean has an extensive network of contacts from all walks of life throughout not only these areas, but across New Zealand. The widespread Colliers network certainly enhances this to the benefit of everyone that he will deal with.
Both Dean and his wife Lea are extremely community minded and have been involved in numerous Clubs, community groups and fund-raising ventures over many years. A highlight of this involvement was when Dean was awarded the prestigious Charles Monro Award at the NZ Rugby Awards in 2014.
This community passion is something that both Dean and Lea have brought into their working lives and continue to do so with Lea working as an Executive Assistant to Dean in his position with Colliers. Lea has previously worked with Dean in both Real Estate sales and sales assistant roles.
If you are considering selling your rural property, whether it be a farm or lifestyle block, or looking to purchase one, feel free to contact Dean to confidentially discuss your requirements at any time.
Colliers have the expertise, alongside local, national and international presence to ensure you are well looked after. With Dean and Lea File, rest assured you will be in safe hands.
