Colliers held their annual awards night at the Auckland War Memorial Museum on Friday as the organisation took the opportunity to celebrate the success of its team members.
Charles Cooper, Auckland Managing Director for Colliers, says the event, which honoured a range of people from the organisation’s key service lines, was held in excellent spirits.
“Our awards night was an outstanding occasion, and it was nice for our colleagues to get together and celebrate their success during what has been a challenging period due to Covid-19,” Cooper says.
“We are incredibly lucky to have such a strong team of experts at Colliers, and I congratulate all of our winners and look forward to seeing what they will achieve next.”
National Director of Industrial Greg Goldfinch received the Top Revenue Award for the fifth consecutive year, while the Highbrook office where Goldfinch is based was named Brokerage Team of the Year.
“I extend my congratulations to the Highbrook office and to Greg Goldfinch for what was another memorable year as they continue to set the standard for commercial real estate excellence,” Cooper says.
Goldfinch says he is humbled to have collected another accolade given Colliers has so many market leaders in various business lines across New Zealand.
“In a very challenging year given Covid-19 lockdowns, I was extremely proud of how everyone at Colliers pulled together and looked after one another and our clients’ wellbeing first and foremost,” Goldfinch says.
The Highbrook office completed the three largest individual industrial sales deals in the New Zealand market in 2021, but the moment Goldfinch takes the most pride in was his team’s record-setting fundraising effort for Motor Neurone Disease, which raised more than $215,000 in June last year.
“This was very close to home and very personal to me. The effort summed up the quality of people I’m lucky enough to lead and how supportive our loyal clients are.”
As part of a memorable night for the Highbrook office, Industrial Sales Broker James Dickey was named Rookie of the Year, Office Manager Sanna Rongonui won the Auckland Managing Director’s Award, and Director of Industrial Ben Cockram was named MVP for Brokerage.
The North Shore office enjoyed an unprecedented year of success as they earned the Divisional Growth Award, while Director of Sales and Leasing Matt Prentice was presented with the Golden Gavel for his sales volume in the auction room, and he also claimed the Account Manager of the Year Award alongside Director of Investment Sales Shoneet Chand.
Meanwhile, Jill McMillan from the Corporate Solutions team in Wellington received the coveted CEO’s Award, while the Christchurch office, led by Managing Director Hamish Doig, was named Franchise of the Year.
Colliers New Zealand CEO Mark Synnott was incredibly impressed with the recipients.
“Jill McMillan has performed beyond all expectations for Colliers’ Corporate Solutions in 2021. It’s tremendous to be able to recognise her efforts as Director of Operations, with the CEO’s Award. Jill showed great leadership and business-winning skills in a very challenging year,” Synnott says.
“Colliers’ Christchurch agency performed off the charts in 2021 and they have been great to work with as we continue to expand our business in the South Island. During his 30 years with Colliers, Hamish Doig and his team have been outstanding partners and clear market leaders in commercial and industrial real estate. We are proud to be associated with them.”
Scott Thomson from the Wellington office was named MVP of Corporate Solutions and Gerard Earl, National Director of Corporate Solutions at Colliers, says he was a standout selection.
“Scott is a true leader within our business and has taken on significant additional responsibility to ensure his team and the organisation has continued to perform strongly through challenging conditions,” Earl says.
