Jonathan has over twenty years’ experience in the UK and New Zealand construction industry, ranging from boutique residential to larger educational and municipal developments. He has been part of the Collier Project Leaders team for 14 years.
Since graduation in the UK he has served in both engineering and management capacities for major contractors before moving on to pure project management in NZ. He has since obtained a master’s degree in construction law.
Jonathan has particular interest and expertise in law as it applies to construction contract management and administration. His ability to identify and manage contractual risk has been applied to a number of complex projects, minimising opportunities for misunderstanding and dispute whilst maintaining focus on project objectives. These abilities have led to extensive experience performing Engineer to Contract roles, brokering negotiated agreements and advising on disputed matters. Outside of Colliers Project Leaders, he occasionally performs the role of adjudicator in disputed matters.
Jonathan has considerable experience in the areas of information management, programme management and cost control. He has a lead role in developing systems to optimise and drive best practice in these areas. He is also influential in training and promoting best practice in contract administration within Colliers Project Leaders.
With extensive experience at all levels of the education sector, local government capital projects and strategic planning, Jonathan provides project leadership based on team engagement and clear communication.
Jonathan leads a dynamic team of project managers delivering projects across the central North Island and covering sectors as diverse as tertiary education, healthcare, hospitality, commercial, large format retail and industrial projects.
