Nelson's leading Kahurangi Estate vineyard and winery property for sale
A Nelson based wine company is now offering its Upper Moutere vineyard and winery for sale to potential investors with a long leaseback arrangement in place.
Kahurangi Estate Limited is one of Nelson’s leading wine companies, producing a range of premium wines for sale in domestic and offshore markets.
The company also undertakes contract processing for other wine companies and growers, and imports and distributes a portfolio of wine, port, sherry and cognac from a range of international and domestic producers.
Kahurangi has now decided to sell its 12.88ha property, located at the junction of Moutere Highway and Sunrise Road, and enter into a new 10 year lease, commencing on the settlement date.
Broker Ken Montgomery of Colliers International is marketing the property in conjunction with Mike Laven.
“The rent paid by Kahurangi Estate Limited will be 7.5 per cent of the agreed purchase price, which makes this a very attractive investment opportunity for those who are looking for alternative property investments,” Montgomery said.
“We think this will appeal to investors who are attracted to the Nelson lifestyle but who want a passive investment in one of the region’s leading business sectors.”
The property, which is well known to travellers along the popular Moutere Highway, comprises a 900 tonne winery (plant not included), cellar door and café, plus vineyards.
The 9.88 hectare vineyard has some of oldest commercially grown Riesling vines in the South Island. The other grape varieties include Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and Montepulciano.
In addition, the property includes a four-bedroom home and a popular two-bedroom cottage.
The property is for sale by negotiation.
