New national co-directors drive growth in a fast-moving business line
Colliers International is strengthening its rural real estate capabilities with a new leadership team and plans to expand its regional presence.
North Island Director Hadley Brown and South Island Director Ruth Hodges have been appointed to lead Colliers International’s Rural and Agribusiness team from their respective offices in the Hawke’s Bay and Canterbury.
The national co-directors will work closely together to ensure the Rural and Agribusiness team takes a coordinated nationwide approach to providing rural and agribusiness sales, valuation and advisory services.
At the same time, Colliers International will maintain and grow a strong regional presence to ensure it continues to meet the distinct needs of the North and South Island markets.
Colliers International New Zealand Chief Executive Mark Synnott says the team’s new structure will allow its rural property experts to better leverage their specialised skills, both locally and throughout New Zealand.
“We see our rural and agribusiness capability as a key part of Colliers International’s strategy of targeted expansion in growth areas,” he says.
“I’m thrilled to have a dynamic new leadership team in place, and I look forward to working with Hadley and Ruth as we continue to expand our substantial rural capabilities.”
First established in Canterbury in 2014, Colliers International’s Rural and Agribusiness team now covers all of New Zealand from offices in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Nelson and Christchurch.
It offers sales, valuation and advisory services across a wide range of rural and agribusiness asset classes, including farms, horticulture, viticulture, and lifestyle properties.
The team further expanded its capabilities this year with the establishment of a specialist forestry sales service headed by New Zealand’s leading forestry broker, Warwick Searle.
It is also planning to expand its regional presence with two new offices in key North Island locations in the coming months.
Colliers International currently has more than 30 Rural and Agribusiness specialists nationwide.
Brown says he is excited to help lead New Zealand’s fastest-growing rural property services company.
“Our strategy of targeted expansion is all about hiring the best people, with the right expertise in the right areas,” he says.
“Combined with our coordinated national approach, that strategy allows Colliers International to offer a broad range of specialised rural property services throughout New Zealand.”
Hodges says the new team structure provides a renewed focus on Colliers International’s nationwide rural capabilities.
“Our goal is to offer the very best full-service rural and agribusiness offering in New Zealand, and I’m thrilled to help lead a team of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to achieving that goal.
“Together, our nationwide team of rural property experts is committed to helping our new and existing clients accelerate their success.”
