All 17 sections in first stage of Wilson Bay Estates under contract
The first stage of a new Queenstown lifestyle subdivision by the shores of Lake Wakatipu has been snapped up within four days of going to market.
Colliers International launched its marketing campaign for Wilson Bay Estates a week ago. Four days later, all 17 sites in the first stage were under contract.
Queenstown Sales Consultant Graeme Jackson says while settlement is not due until the summer of 2019/20, he’s pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm for the offering.
“The result shows there is huge demand for large, quality lifestyle offerings in the Queenstown area,” he says.
“It’s particularly pleasing to see a healthy appetite for residential subdivisions on the Glenorchy side of Queenstown, which bodes well for further residential and lifestyle growth in this area.”
Wilson Bay Estates is located right by idyllic Wilson Bay, a popular recreation spot that is regarded as one of Queenstown’s most beautiful beaches.
The subdivision offers the very best of alpine living in a stunning location less than 10km from central Queenstown.
Priced from a relatively affordable $440,000, the sections under contract range from a nearly flat 4,043sq m site through to larger lots of up to 16.8ha, positioned high on the hillside.
The second stage of the subdivision will comprise 10 sections, including a number further up the hillside. The release date is yet to be set.
“If the first stage is anything to go by, there’s likely to be immense demand for these remaining lifestyle offerings,” Jackson says.
Wilson Bay Estates promises an aspirational rural lifestyle that’s been designed to bridge the gap between alpine living and the convenience, amenity and comforts of central Queenstown.
“Located a mere eight minutes’ drive from the CBD, the subdivision is also within only 30 minutes of Queenstown International Airport, ski fields, award-winning golf courses and wineries.
“Wilson Bay itself is renowned as the place to play on summer days, with locals and holidaymakers alike making the most of the ample opportunities for fishing, watersports, swimming, tramping and mountain biking on the local trails.”
Public access will be available from the subdivision to popular walking-biking tracks, with direct access to Lake Dispute and Moke Lake.
“Starting from gently sloping lower sites, the contours and section sizes increase as the subdivision progresses up the hillside.
“Sections offer stunning alpine vistas across the lake, capturing the enticing valleys and craggy summits of Mount Nicholas, Cecil and Walter Peaks.”
