New development OKLA delivering high quality residential apartment living
The success of two local North Shore businesses is coming to light as boutique apartment development O.K.L.A. starts to rise on Kaipiho Lane in Albany.
O.K.L.A. is a shining example of residential development done well, and a testament to the collaboration between Kingsman Development and their build partner, Haydn & Rollett, both North Shore based.
The development team is committed to investment in the North Shore by providing over 100 new homes to the area.
Kingsman’s vision for the project is to create ‘everyday luxury’ that enhances lifestyles of residents with well-designed spaces in a well-connected location at an accessible price point.
Careful consideration has been given to design aesthetics and practicality, to ensure value for future residents and the existing community.
The O.K.L.A. development comprises a collection of 117 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments over six levels with car parking and a boutique commercial offering at street level.
Construction commenced in June 2018 and is well on track to deliver on time in 2020.
Frank Li and Ken Chen, the business partners behind Kingsman Development, have 10 years of development experience both in New Zealand and China, but chose Albany for their first residential project in Auckland as they wanted to add value to their local area.
“We understand the importance of Albany as a vibrant satellite city of Auckland and have a genuine intention to deliver quality housing for the area.
“We believe that O.K.L.A. presents a unique opportunity because there is such a limited supply of boutique, comfortable apartment living in Albany at an affordable price point.
“For us, developing an iconic building, is more than just the materials, it takes vision, inspiration and an impeccable attention to detail.
“Being in New Zealand for more than 15 years, we understand the importance of the Kiwi lifestyle within a well-connected community.
“When we purchased the site, we were not only inspired by the location itself, enhanced by the unobstructed views, but what we could create to enable a unique and balanced lifestyle.”
Their ethos is to collaborate with trusted local partners and suppliers, such as Ignite Architects, who focus on detail and quality craftsmanship. This was also a key reason behind their choice of build partner Haydn & Rollett.
Haydn & Rollett was established in 1946 and has become one of New Zealand’s most prominent and well-respected construction companies.
They are known for construction of high-quality residential projects in Auckland, including 132 Halsey in Wynyard Quarter as well as Eight Lake Pupuke Drive, 58 Kilarney Street and Kensington Park, all in the North Shore.
O.K.L.A. key facts:
- 90 per cent sold, now under construction and due to complete in 2020
- Refined aesthetic, quality finishes and spacious layouts can be viewed in the furnished display apartment onsite
- Well connected to local amenity, only a short walk to Westfield Albany shopping centre and transport links
- Building design is modernist and timeless, designed by Ignite Architects
- Views of Hooton Reserve that won’t be built out by neighbouring developments
- Premium two-bedroom apartments with car parking available from $850,000
Albany has been earmarked as one of ten Metropolitan Centres in the Auckland Unitary Plan, meaning the area is set to densify with residential and commercial development in the coming years.
Increased development will also mean better infrastructure such as improved roading and public transport links, many of which are already in place.
